I think I will rewind my tape and snuggle with Keith. :loveya:

105. Yeah, but what's weird is that it really doesn't do anything for me.
No significant pain relief, maybe a little dizziness or loopiness, but otherwise, nada. Damned stuff seems ineffective to me. When I take it, I wonder what on earth for.

108. aw, Ruth...
extremely gentle . Shingles can be excruciating, but the vicodin should be taking the edge off. I never got the "get high on vicodin" aspect either: I always get good pain relief, but I've never gotten a buzz off the stuff. I can remember oversleeping a pain pill after my shoulder surgery and being amazed at just how much pain that stuff can mask; basically I took the next dose with as little motion as possible and tried not to breathe until the meds kicked in.

Feel better.

I'm finding ibuprofin to be fairly effective, and it keeps my mind clear, so I can function in the real world. Ordinarily, I wouldn't bother, but for a funeral, and church service, I really want to give my best.

Thanks so much, Gina.

116. Yeah, let's hear it for baths.
Munchkin and I both had a fever of 102 yesterday, so we really needed baths this morning. Okay, we really needed them yesterday, but no way did I have the energy. Glad the ibuprofen is helping. I guess it addresses the inflammation as well as providing some pain relief, which is nothing but good. Just be religious about the taking-with-food thing, as you'll probably be on it for a while. :-(

I've been sick the last couple of days too, but my problem was drug withdrawal. I take this mild antidepressant for hot flashes and did'nt get my stupid refill until this afternoon. I am now, officially, back among the living.

Never let it be doubted for a second: This man loves his baseball.

But he hates what "Baseball" does to baseball.

Such is the fate of a true fan.

Keith is on the warpath. And when he's on the warpath, he does two things: 1) start demanding resignations and 2) in the absence of anyone else resigning, turns in his own resignation.

I think I feel his resignation from that baseball historians group comin' on.

21. Hi everyone!
Got caught up in homework & almost missed the start of the show. :o

Good snark on dodging the ombudsman. I know everyone is playing the Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington for kicks & giggles, but it's a really serious jurisdictional issue between the federal & state courts. (yeah yeah, that issue is :boring: for y'all, but quite frankly, federal judges already think they're God but they don't know squat about family or probate law. I wouldn't want them screwing up any of my cases!)

51. I tend to run screaming from federal court
hence, I've managed to avoid getting my federal bar card. But, from what I gather on this case, there was a highly-contested state probate court case in which the jury came back against ANS. She later filed for bankruptcy in federal court, which somehow granted her $ from her husband's estate. (In most cases, filing bankruptcy puts a stay on any other court proceedings--divorces, custody/child support, foreclosures--until the federal judge lifts the stay. I'm not sure how the federal court reached in to the probate case which had been finalized at that point, which is what they're bitching about right now.)

I should point out that it has since come out that this one particular son of Mr. Hunt contrived to keep ANS away from her husband, and also locked out another son. The last will from the old guy cut both of them out entirely, so Mr. Hunt may not have clean hands in all this. I don't know what she was arguing at the state court level, but she sure as hell didn't help her case by showing up to testify in a T-shirt that said "Spoiled."

They hung them, except for one, who was "pressed," a particularly gruesome way to die.

Or at least he's not enjoying it. Unless you call working up a head of righteous anger enjoyable.

This has really got his buttons frosted. You think Bill O'Reilly gets him steamed? Hell hath no fury like a baseball historian scorned! You wait and see!
