KOEB 4-7-06: The "Even Judas Had a Better Week Than Bush" Edition

Starting the thread early because I'll probably never get to use this title again, and I might not be back in time.

closer to the usual time before someone else beat him to it, and he really wanted to use that opener so he had to strike while he had a moment, which happened to be about a half-hour early.

I read the transcript of the first one and streamed most of the second one. I can sum it up:

"The president declassified the information."

That's about it.

As to the test itself, much of it is spent waiting and/or keeping perfectly still while they make images.

I mean, it was nice hearing him on Dan's show--where he was changing his mind about Pete Rose and waxing rhapsodic about the beauty of Julie Christie--but dammit, I've had a shitty couple of weeks and I NEEDED HIM TONIGHT.

I added a picture of Julie just to show Keith what he's missing by not being with us. So there. ;(

51. What was he saying about Pete Rose?
Pete Rose, for all his faults, has been my favorite ball player since I was young.

My dad, who is a major Reds fan, took the family to see our first pro baseball game when we were living in California. Pete Rose had only been with the Reds a couple of years at the time. I grew up watching and cheering on the Cinci Reds(the Big Red Machine).

68. Really
I'm pleased to hear that. Considering some of the players that already inhabit the Hall of Fame, I think he deserves to be there. He might have bet on baseball, but he didn't take any drugs to make himself a better player. All his stats were earned through his talent and to leave him out of the Hall would be a crime. Especially since there are already some players in the HOF that gambled.

64. Dan and Keith interviewed Pete on Dan's show today
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 07:28 PM by BerryBush
about the whole steroid mess, and Pete actually sounded remorseful for the first time I can recall about the fact that he had bet on games. Keith said that he was changing his mind about Pete and that he now believed Pete deserves another chance to be in Cooperstown. He said part of the reason he had changed his mind was Pete's attitude and part of it was because of the steroids thing. I think he really thinks steroids are worse.

edited to add: and that is the last I will say about baseball tonight, so that those who don't like hearing about it can enjoy their night baseball free, as it no doubt will be with no Keith. :sniff:

My owner called Jim Burda and described the way I was moping around and walking with my head down. Over the phone he was able to work on me...There hasn't been a reason to yelp now for several weeks! Thank you. Daisy Mae."

204. Now I see it.
Once a friend and I found a couple of good logs, threw them into the Cannon River in Minnesota, and jumped in and used them to float down the river, not knowing where we'd end up. That's beaver habitat, and we got some strange looks from them, and more than one tail slap.

Might have gotten giardia too, now that I think back on it.

171. That's really unfair.
I think Tucker and Reeter should switch time-slots. The main reason Tucker's ratings are down is that he's up against "The Daily Show." Compared to the other shows on MSNBC, Tucker's not too bad. Seriously.

I'd watch Tucker. On codeine. If I had to watch Rita, I'd OD on purpose.

I'm guessing MSNBC paid too much for Rita and they're still not ready to admit it and cut their losses. How's she doing in the money demo? I know her overall ratings aren't bad.
