Miss don't-I-look-cute-with-two-missing-teeth is having her dance recital next weekend so the DVD of last year's tour de force has been high on the playlist at my house recently. The recording is mostly fun for things like little girls saying, "Hi, Daddy!" (as she very audibly did) or kids making up their own choreography, or just generally looking cute, as some of the costumes were very nice. All of the music was pre-recorded and one of the last numbers (not one of hers, thank God) is the much-overplayed and not-liked (by me) "God Bless the USA".
So... this morning, on the drive in, little miss is singing that song and she's got the tune down. The words, not so much. Hubby and I heard, "I'm proud to be an American... in case I know I'm free."
I thought about correcting her and then decided to let that little viral video make it's way through her pre-K classroom. Maybe she knows the right words, after all.
