1. Migraine and Serotonin
I have purchased a copy of the book The Pain Cure by Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D., hoping to find some help for my chronic back pain. My spine collapsed from severe osteoporosis about two years ago, and I am recovering gradually. Starting when I was about ten, I had migraines regularly up until age 47, ten years ago. During the past year, the migraines have returned, but less frequently.

Dr. Khalsa writes that low supply of the neurotransmitter serotonin is linked to migraine. He makes a strong case for why this is true.

To boost my serotonin, I started taking 5 hydroxytryptophan, 25mg and tryptophan 250mg daily. These are conservative doses. I have had two headaches since starting the supplements. They have remained mild and have not escalated into a full blown migraine. I am hopeful, and will continue taking these doses daily.

I recommend the book, which is selling for a few dollars on Amazon.

2. What medication are you taking? I coped with them most of my life.

Finally A doctor prescribed Imitrex. My life changed for the better, but still it was hit and miss. It wasn't until I got Zomig that I found the best treatment for me. There are several good medicines for migraines. I'm not much of a medicine person, but the pain of migraine convinced me to make exceptions.

It's much better than suffering.

Good luck
