Trying to get the story on the early days of ESPN -- sports junkies, can you help?

I have heard stories that the founders leveraged ESPN with about a zillion credit cards before they got their first "real" financing. Wikipedia doesn't mention that, and I'm wondering if it's urban legend or what their true founding story is.

Anyone have any info? :shrug: Thanks!
