Poll question: When do you hang up the SPD shoes?
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 01:48 PM by realpolitik
Some people ride all through the year, but others get to a point in the year when they put the bike in the garage and leave it there for a while.

What about you?

1. Never, but...
I don't ride much in the winter. Occasionally we get some thawing and above freezing temps in the winter months, which will allow me to get on my bike. But the drivers in my city are bad enough in good weather...I'm not going to fight with them for road space in the snow and ice!

4. Never, why when I have Studded Tires and fenders.
NEVER, why when I have studded tires.2-3 inches of snow does not stop me, ice and wind do, but not snow.

Anyway I have found studded tires keeps me from sliding on ice. Now it has increase roll Resistance (you can tell it is harder to peddle) but keeps you on the go no matter the weather.

The Fenders keep the water off me.

2. In KC
There is ususally about 3 depressing weeks in late Jan, early Feb when I can't ride.

It is a dark time for me.

6. Never.
When it's too cold to ride, or too windy, like this past week, or rainy or snowing...
Out comes the Hamster Wheel!

And I pedal to Nowhere, trying to keep cadence with "YMCA"...
