35 miles, with 3,800+ ft elevation gain. I'm totally exhausted. But hey, I did it!! Whew!

I hadn't climbed like that since last year. It's been a while.

I'm just starting up with the training again and that 3 hr ride really wiped me out.

Here's to being back in the saddle again....:toast:

:hi:

1. Congrats!
Living in the flatlands makes even the smaller hills a challenge.

2. Thanks!
living around here, in the Santa Cruz mountains, you can't go 2 miles without hitting a hill. It comes with the territory. Is that a good thing?

Who knows? :D

3. I did Johnstown PA to Ebensburg PA a few years ago.

It was 42 miles, but only a 1020 feet gain. Took me three hours up and two hour down (And it was up and down not just up).

I did it for four years straight, not the last two years as I waited each year for a new bike trial to open up. The Southern Cambria Railway trial is under construction as I type so I will try it again next month when the Snow is melted.

Our Eastern Mountains are NOT as high as the Western Mountains, but it is still a hill climb.
Anyway congratulations for doing it, it is a LOT harder to go up and down a hillside than to peddle on a flat trail.

Site to get elevation on almost anywhere in the US:
