1970's Schwinn's...

Scored these rusty things out of a barn yesterday. One ridable 5 speed Stingray rat rod and two old BMX bikes. The ten speeds are toast, too bad.
Family was killed in a plane crash in 1980 and the bikes had hung up in the barn since then.

2. Sure thing and there is a somewhat happier ending...

A friend puts together jousting bikes so I asked him if he could use the frames.
He stopped by and decided to weld together a metal sculpture of sorts, we are going to put it together and take it up to the hill behind the barn where I found these, inscribe a plaque and install it.
The father had purchased all of these at once from a local bike store that is still here. The owner remembers the sale.

My daughter is riding the Stingray, loves the banana seat and has learned to do wheelies.
