Bush involved in bike crash in Scotland
http://www.boston.com/news/world/europe/articles/2005/07/06/bush_falls_off_bike_while_in_scotland/

July 6, 2005

GLENEAGLES, Scotland --President Bush collided with a local police officer and fell during a bike ride on the grounds of the Gleneagles golf resort while attending a meeting of world leaders Wednesday.

Bush suffered "mild to moderate" scrapes on his hands and arms that required bandages by the White House physician, said White House spokesman Scott McClellan. The accident occurred on asphalt, McClellan said. It was raining lightly at the time, and Bush was wearing a helmet.

Police said the officer suffered a "very minor" ankle injury.

The officer was on a security detail. He is a member of the police department of Strathclyde, McClellan said.

1. I have ridden with guys like **
and they are a heads down, red mist menace to themselves and all in their proximity.

I think we need to pitch in and get him a fast road bike, and a copy of
effective cycling. While we are at it, let's get Crashcart a big heavy trike...

4. Or maybe get him a big wheel.
That way he could ride around the White House driveway and not hurt anybody else.

3. I would LOVE to take this guy on some on my singletrack!
There is NOway he could survive.
this 44yr old chick just made a 15yr old highschool footballstar
rethink tough! AND I took it easy on him, but did offer him some ice tea and my hammock to recoup in. I thought that was very magnanomous of me.

5. President Bush collided with a local police officer
Using the word "collided" implies that the policeman was moving, or somehow was partially responsible for the accident.

A proper journalist would have written something like:

"While riding his bicycle today, george bush* ran over (mowed down?) a stationary pedestrian. After rolling over the policeman, bush's* only comment was, "Bring em on!!!"
