Will my arms ache forever?
My daughter is expecting a baby in September. She is a single mother of two remarkable girls. She is frightened and alone now, and is coming to believe that it will be best to place this baby for adoption. I understand why, but I find that I am not able to help her make this decision. My arms already ache to hold this new member of my family and I fear they will ache forever.

I have told my daughter that I will support her no matter what she decides, but I'm not able to help her to make this decision.

1. As a new grandma
 Maybe you can be part of an open adoption.

2. You Can't Help Her Make The Decision, But
You will support her decision, and is that not the best thing you can do?

3. No, they won't.
My daughter placed a baby for adoption ten years ago. She is a beautiful little girl with a wonderful family. I don't know exactly when the change came, but I now appreciate that she is exactly where she should be. She is not ours, but she knows that all of her family of origin number among the people who love her.

4. I wish the best for
all of you with this very hard decision. When is she due? Maybe she'll reconsider by then, knowing she has your love and support.

Whatever happens I hope it is the best possible situation for everyone concerned. Maybe an open adoption can be arranged.
