We're getting some leftover Rita weather here in southern Missouri this morning. It woke me up. Having just gone through Katrina in Biloxi, I recognized the sound of the wind. The long gust/hiss of sustained wind rather than the spotty winds of a normal storm.
The sounds of Katrina carving her initials on my memory.
1. much less so up here... but we've had about 8 hours of gusty winds
and occasionally heavy rain... obviously she's an extratropical low merged with a front now... but still more than you would normally see with a cold front.
