I'm trying to get into more of the records on FamilySearch.org and just realized that if someone is a member of LDS, they get more data. So I'm trying to cheat. LOL. Can anyone help me? :) I'm so bad. But heck, anyone should be able to see all of their records, not just members of their church.

1. Lots of views, but no replies. So another question.
I didn't even think that a member of LDS would have special access to the records on FamilySearch.org.
I was going to register at the site and when I went to this link,

https://ident.familysearch.org/cis-web/pages/registration/registration.html

it clearly asks if you want to register as a member of the general public or as a member of LDS.

I assumed (maybe incorrectly,) that members of LDS get access to more records.
So, if anyone reading this post IS a member of LDS, can you tell me if you DO get access to more
records than the general public?

Thanks ahead of time for any replies.

2. I think your assuming wrong
I am not LDS so I may be wrong but here is my slant.

As I understand LDS need to put in so many hours of volunteer work into church work. That could mean working on transcriptions for the pilot site, at a FHC, or other projects the church might have on going. By saying you are LDS a member can prove he has been doing his fare share of volunteer work.

I am registered as a non LDS on this site. I have helped in transcriptions, only to get more records up for use. I can go and look at what I have done as far as transcriptions. It means nothing to me since I am not LDS but I think LDS use this to show how they have helped the church. Also by registering you can post on the message boards they have about problems and suggestions to the pilot site. I really don't think you get anything special by being LDS.

3. Sorry it took me so long to get back to your reply.
My computer was having hiccups. It does that a lot.

Thank you for your reply. It makes sense. After reading what you wrote, I did a little more research
and found some others who had written pretty much the same explanation that you wrote here.
So I truly thank you. I appreciate the information VERY much! :)
