what will happen?

I think that there is a real chance that Senator Clinton could pull this out and win the nomination. I see that as more likely now than I did a week ago or a month ago. I also think that she is growing and getting stronger in leadership qualities and determination as a result of the primaries, and I see a chance that she could be one of those politicians, like FDR or RFK who goes through a transformation and rises to the occasion in extraordinary circumstances. I am pretty cynical about all politicians, and was never a fan of the Clinton candidacy. But here we are, and I am well accustomed to making the best of any situation as a worker for the party for 40 years. I strongly supported Edwards, but I wasn't head over heels in love with him and was critical of him just as I would be with any politician, which annoyed many Edwards fans.

My question is this: should Clinton win the nomination, what do you think the reaction will be from Obama supporters? Many of them have cast this race as the ultimate show down between good and evil, and harnessed all of their emotions - the good, the bad and the ugly - to the Obama candidacy. The hero worship in the Obama camp, both in breadth and depth, is beyond anything I have ever seen.

They will skuttle back to their holes. The others, who got on the bandwagon with the creeps, will wise up and vote for the nominee. And good riddance to the others. Most of them don't vote, anyway.

It has surprised me, both on and offline, to see people I respect and had thought of as level headed catch the Obama fever and then become almost different people. Once they catch the fever, it is hard to talk to them.

I keep telling myself, "this will pass," and I remember the post 9/11 behavior of people on this board, and people in my family, and how if we didn't worship Bush and the regime, we were terrorists or worse. It got better, and we survived. I know we will survive this. But it is very hard and I'm getting too old for this BS.

She's the one who's shown who really is the tougher candidate willing to face questions and issues that aren't always fair, while BO already whines that the ABC debate wasn't doing what it was supposed to do.

Hey, the way I look at it, life ain't fair. You don't get to choose the questions people ask you - or worse, the problems that come to your desk. Hillary has handled it all with aplomb, even humour and wit. Today, her sworn enemies - Scaife of the Pittsburgh Trib-Review, responsible for the vile Arkansas Project - even endorsed her in an editorial that was so clear-eyed in its assessment of both candidates, it took me aback. Meanwhile, the Kool-Aid drinkers remain oblivious to BO's many weaknesses.

Like someone else said, though, I genuinely fear that the unhinged BO supporters will resort to violence at the Dem convention if the tantrumy babies don't get what they want. I fear for Hillary's and her supporters' safety there. I hope it doesn't happen, but the threats are real.
