Hillary doesn't have to resign.
Hillary has half of the pledged delegates; so she can hold out until the convention. Smart move because the republicans will then Vet young Obama before August 25th...they can't wait until September to start campaigning against Obama so..Hillary just might get the Super delegates by then if Obama is spoiled.

Many candidates in the past have stayed in the race until the end even though they were behind - Kucinich, Brown, Kennedy, McGovern (in '68), McCarthy, Jackson to name a few. Of all of the die hards who have stayed in the race when they were behind, I don't think any of them were doing as well or were as close to leading as Clinton is.

I am now completely convinced that those men were seen as having honorable motives because they were men, and that much of the character assassination of Clinton is because she is a woman. People deny that - they may not even be aware that they would never say the things they are saying about Clinton about a man. There is some sort of permission people grant themselves to act more aggressively against those presumed to be weaker, and women are presumed to be weaker. If they could get away with saying "get back in the kitchen" I think they would - in fact, I think the "kitchen sink" nonsense is an oblique way to get that idea into the conversation. When she refuses to knuckle under, the attacks escalate. I am not explaining what I see very well about this. Maybe someone else can do a better job.

All of the screaming here for Clinton to quit is just a clever way to bully Clinton supporters.

2. If Obama and his supporters were so confident they would not have this intense hostility.
My suit of armor has so many dents in it needs to go to a workshop where it can be hammered back into shape.

4. My theory is...

There are those who believe that unlike Hillary, Obama can be controlled and manipulated. That's what happens when you get a candidate with so little experience and who wants to be recognized and loved more than he truly wants to be our chief executive. So I think there's a lot of jockeying going on among those who think they will get his ear and ascend to the democratic version of Dick Cheney.

11. Yup, like Bush. It was clear that he was going to be a convenient front
the right name, a governor of a populous state, a genial (to some) guy who was just going to be told what to say and to do.

This has been my theory from the start: that Kennedy and other powers that be went looking for someone who would be the un-Clinton and found Obama. What was there not to like? An African American, but without the baggage of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, a charismatic and eloquent man, with no track record to haunt him.

7. That's the way I feel too. I'm sending another donation tomorrow.
As long as she's in it to win it, I'll be in there with her.
