Sharing something with the Clinton supporters

I called my mom last night who is an AVID Clinton supporter (as is my Grandpa and all of my Aunts).
She was on fire about Obama and his inexperience and the inherent sexism that MEN of all colors were voting AGAINST a woman and that was why Obama was winning.
She was pissed at their Governor (Napolitano) for endorsing Obama when the state went to Clinton.
I never thought I could come around to voting for Hillary--and that is being honest.
BUT I am warming to the idea.
Although I had almost talked myself into supporting Obama--I just simply cannot.

I have tried to support Obama - twice.

Once at the very beginning of the campaign - January 2007.
I even kept my daughter out of school one morning when he was here.

But I got so tired of waiting for more than rhetoric from him.

Then after Biden dropped out, I began listening to both Hillary and Obama.
I connected with Hillary's message right away. But, I thought alot about all of her negatives, and decided to support Obama. My head was telling me to support Obama, but my heart was telling me to support Clinton. Then I watched her on c-span, and that was it.

I just don't connect with Obama's message. I find him annoying to listen to.
I don't like people preaching at me.

Of course I will vote for him if he wins the nomination.

Clinton winning in Az was sweet revenge, altho I really like our governor.

If somebody would have told me 3 months ago that I would support Hillary, I would have told them to have their head examined :P

only I went from Biden to Edwards before coming around to Hillary. I always admired Clinton but I didn't like her negatives. However, I find Obama very preachy and not much substance.

All this talk of crying and swooning at his rallies is a turn-off for me, too. Like pre-teen girls crying over New Kids on the Block or something. LOL

After Edwards suspended I tried to warm to Obama, but couldn't get past his cult of personality and right-wing memes. Then I talked with a friend in a similar situation who had decided on Hillary. The day before my caucus I went to a Hillary event. Although I still have a problem with her DLC and corporate connections, I came away from the event very favorably impressed with her energy, depth of knowledge, and apparent sincerity. The thing that is the strongest selling point for me is that she is far better prepared for the inevitable crises that will occur due to the huge mess that Dumbya has created. I do not have a similar confidence in Obama's ability to handle things.

I strongly supported John Edwards. When he dropped out, I looked carefully at Obama and Clinton. Believe me, I wanted to like Obama; he's young, dynamic, good-looking. But the more I read and watched, the more I liked Hillary, and the more uneasy I became about Obama. I found myself defending Hillary even when Edwards was still in, because of the vitrol directed against her.

Then, I discovered I liked what she was saying. I think she's a smart, terrific woman...the perfect person to be the first woman president. Whatever the attacks against her are and will be (and there will be plenty), nobody can accuse her of being a wimp. She'll face and answer ever one, and that's what we need.
