with 19 years without a drink or a drug. I hesitate to say 'sobriety' or 'recovery' because right now I'm feeling crazy as a loon - today I reached out to a long-time sober friend and asked for support in getting back on track. She asked what about meetings and I told her that I hung out in an online forum on a website I frequented - funny, she didn't think that just reading everyone's posts counted for very much...
I do read the big book and 12/12 - but somehow going to meetings slipped from my life in the last few years...and my daily life reflects the lack of serenity I have when meetings are a part of my life.
She reminded me of a very simple truth: if we want to change our thinking we need to change our actions. So here I am - ready to share experience, strength and hope so that we all can live sober one day at a time.
I am new here, but got some time in too...meetings are very important, even if they are in cyberspace. But go to those where there are people you can see and hear too.
