Please get your thyroid checked!! And do research.
It is estimated that one in five American women has an undiagnosed low thyroid problem.

Low thyroid is a frequently undiagnosed problem that makes it impossible to lose weight. It's quite common, and is called "depression". It usually occurs in women. It happened to me when I was ten or twelve. I've been taking Armour Thyroid since then which was about 40 years ago.

Most doctors go by the blood tests, not by how the patient feels. The doctors want to prescribe the synthetic stuff (Cytomel or Synthroid) which is not as bio-active as Armour Thyroid which is a cheap byproduct from the meat packing plant.

Please go to this website. This lady has been through all the problems I've been through arguing with doctors when I was exhausted, and she's been through more too:

1. I just found the exact same website on a low-carb website.
I'm on Armour and it has helped tremendously. My mother and all my siblings are hypothyroid!

2. I have an appointment on July 24.
My sister has hypothyroid. My mother had her thyroid removed many years ago as a treatment for myasthenia gravis so we don't know if she would have developed it naturally. I've been having more and more days when I feel tired for no reason. I can't seem to lose weight, no matter what I try, and gain weight even when I'm keeping my calories under 1800 per day. I also have achy joints and my skin is dryer than it used to be. I haven't had any issues with sensitivity to cold or losing my hair, though.

My symptoms could also be related to menopause. I've had a couple of dizzy spells and a couple of other female-related symptoms. My blood tests have always been normal but I'm going to ask for the more extensive test to be sure.

Thanks for the info!

3. kick.

If I'm gonna lose weight, i'm gonna have to bust ass exercising, and get liposuction to get all of it off.

While I was growing up my mom nagged me all the time about eating "like a bird". I was a very picky eater and am still a picky eater. I was of normal weight then. Now I'm overweight -- I've gradually gained weight over the years.

Then mom got on my case about being fat, later. Sigh.

The worst of both worlds. Picky eater and fat too!!!
I am a picky eater and I also have a lot of food allergies.

4. cortisol
High / low cortisol (adrenal gland issues) is commonly associated with thyroid issues.
However not many doctors understand this.
At one time, it was common knowledge - but since her is very little money (no patent on cortisol) it has been demonized.
