Happy Thanksgiving Everyone ... I hope
You all enjoyed and indulged in your favourite foods. Today is another day. Onward and upward! NO GUILTY feelings for anything you might have eaten and enjoyed at the thanksgiving table.
Life's too short!

1. I did enjoy, except for stuffing...
which I didn't make because neither of us needed it. I did eat a much smaller quantity than I have in the past. When I think of how much I used to eat, even on a normal day, no wonder I'd gained so much weight.
I had saved up a lot of points leading up to Thursday; so much so that I'd lost over a pound in the 5 days before. I was very pleased to discover that I'd used most but not all of my spare points for turkey day. I also made sure to get weighed on Wednesday rather than my usual Friday; I wasn't that brave.

2. You should be proud
of yourself!! It sounds like you 'managed' quite well.

I cringe whenever I think of what I used to eat too, No wonder I got so huge.

11. I lost a pound and a half the week after, too.
I'm amazed. I was being careful (and I did miss the stuffing) but I got most of the tastes of the season in and enjoyed myself. I was using the leftover gravy, a quarter cup at a time, mixed with some shredded chicken or turkey and a cup of spaghetti squash for a nice hot lunch with some of the comfort quality of rice and gravy.

12. You are doing SO well!
Y'know I've never tried spaghetti squash but that sounds like a great idea!

congrats on your continued success.

3. i had a good holiday, i ate what i wanted and found i didn't want
all that much, a little bit of everything. I wore my jeans that fit well with no Lycra so that helped a lot, if i overdid it i would have been mucho uncomfortable.

6. I didn't want much either ..
I can't eat much in one sitting and I thought I'd really miss all the wonderful turkey and trimmings etc. It was just my husband and me for dinner this holiday so I didn't 'do' the whole routine.
Roast Beef was the order of the day. I too ate what I needed to and didn't miss the rest.

:)

Good for you for having self control and jeans that fit!

4. I decided that I really wanted a slice of pie...so I had a small slice.
I brought my whipped mashies(cauliflower) and avoided the stuffing and potato land mines. I had salad with cranberries and almonds in a vinagrette instead of the cranberry sauce. All in all...my virtue is intact and I'm confident in my ability to make good choices even when faced with abundance. I'm thankful!

I'm now down 45lbs since mid-July!!!!!

7. Despite my best intentions
I did not do very well. I did step on the scale to make myself accountable and it was depressing! However, I got right back on track and hopefully by the weekend all the damage will be undone. I'm thinking about wiring my mouth shut for Christmas. LOL

8. deprivation NEVER worked for me ..
I'd get to feeling sorry for myself and I'd over indulge. :(
Good for you for getting right back on track again. What's done is done .. onward and upward, or downward as the 'scale' may be !

9. Thank you for the encouragement
I really need to learn about balance and see this new way of eating as a lifestyle and not a diet. Accountability is so key for me so don't be surprised if you see me posting more about what I've eaten and how much I have or haven't worked out. I don't have much more weight to lose (about 10 more pounds) but my main goal is to be healthy.

10. accountability is a huge deal
For me, I have to be very accountable when it comes to taking supplements, vitamins and such. Having had Weight Loss Surgery, it is MOST important to my well being to maintain a good regimen. I sure feel it if I 'forget' to take my pills.

Healthy is GOOD :)

I look forward to your posts.
