I thought I'd make
My 1000th post here. I don't even have much to say except that threads seem to get locked around these parts awfully fast these days.

Remember ladies... don't play the victim card.

Makes me wanna hurl. But then again, so do the candidate wars. I would prefer a different first female president than Hillary Clinton, but I'm leaning towards voting for her these days. mostly because of the unexamined misogyny against her. Well and because my first choice tie (Kucinich and Edwards) really have no chance.

6. I forgot the "my posts"
section doesn't actually keep your posts up more than 24 hours.

I've been on DU since 2002 but never signed up for an account or started posting until 2005, I think it was '05.

Anyway, this is about the only place on DU I feel comfortable anymore. While not a supporter of hers (because I am so far to the left I might as well call myself a socialist) I am so disgusted and disheartened by all the Clinton bashing - which so much of is gender-based (IMO)

They don't even know why they hate her so much - which shouldn't be funny, but is.

2. Women, know your limits!
Someone sent me a link to this hilarious skit. The saddest part is how, in some ways, it's still the truth. Maybe things would work better if the Feminist forum kept to the topics of kittens and embroidery?

"Women, know your limits!" - http://youtube.com/watch?v=SjxY9rZwNGU

A woman who thinks is a scary thing, maybe the scariest thing to the powers-that-be. So keep on speaking out & expressing your own opinions! Congrats on the 1000th post!

And remember whenever in doubt: Point and laugh at the male sexist closest to you! Ridicule is feared by males. I think women are used to it by the age of 10.

And you're right....having a brain as a woman is a curse!

"I'd rather be pretty than smart...the boys can see better than think."

7. What?
Well, since my primary doesn't count it doesn't really matter who I vote for, does it?

As I get older, I move leftward. I used to be a dem, then I considered myself a progressive, now I'm leaning socialist.

Unfortunately, I live in RI and not Vermont (wish I could afford to move there) and really have no one to vote for who is an ideal candidate for me.

I'm beginning to think that a Clinton presidency might do more for the rights of women here, and around the world, than even a Kucinich presidency.

I used to lean edwards but I've decided to vote Dennis.

But like I said, Rhode Island, so I might as well not even vote. But of course I'll vote - I always do.
