She wears make up, not much, but she does. She dresses appropriately for warehouse work. Jeans, tee shirts and the like. She's cute as hell, so I'm wondering if that's part of the problem. Both the females and males seem to have a difficult time accepting that she is very strong, very assertive, tends to avoid company politics, knows her stuff--I mean the girl did similar work in Afghanistan in greater danger and in far more stress. Not to mention supervising off loading of military equipment which is, I'm sure very expensive, in comparison to what she handles now.
For a company picture, one of the "office" woman told her something to the effect of "well you know you'll have to dress professionally, like in a suit, I mean I'm not sure if you have anything like that..." Unlike me, she loves clothes, has clothes for every occasion. Loves to shop (She SURE didn't get that from me, more likely my sister) This woman made assumptions based on, I don't even know what. Stupid.
So she's an odd combination of "traditional" femininity and in your face strength and competency. For example, She'll wear high heels, ONLY if she's going out, and isn't planning on walking. Doesn't understand women who choose high heels for 8 hours days. She doesn't get the whole "need a man to be complete" concept and has a certain pity for women who tend to feel this way, and contempt for men with that attitude.
Oh well. Pink it is.
