Ok, now HERE's a disgusting little news tidbit

House Passes Grant for Processing Untested Rape Kits

"The House of Representatives passed the Debbie Smith Reauthorization Act of 2008 last week, which will help process a backlog of rape kits across the country. The Act provides funds for a grant program that started in 2004, with the objective to process the nearly 400,000 untested rape kits nationwide. In the United States, more than 200,000 rapes are reported to authorities each year. Thousands of victims agree to a rape kits, an invasive process that can take up to six hours. These individuals are often unaware that the critical evidence gathered is never tested.

What the fucking fuck. Oh, yeah that's right, those womens yelling rape all the time and shit. The randy little sluts were probably wearing short skirts and hanging out in bars, and you know getting drunk equals consent. Just ask all the boys.

I don't need a sarcasm smilie do I?

Seriously, this makes me sick. Not surprised or shocked, just sick

1. I now stand by my prior comments...

(regarding female victims/survivors of assault in this country). The system is NOT pro-victim, particularly when that victim is a woman.

...and people dare to wonder why a woman may choose to not report it when she's assaulted.

2. The sheer numbers are incredibly horrible
400,000 untested rape kits nationwide. Thousands upon thousand of human beings "untested" after a sexual assualt.

How, is this not major news? And people have the nerve to deny there is a rape culture.

5. Of course not. It would upset the whole dominance-submission based sexual paradigm
The band Sublime did a song called "Date Rape" back in the 90s, about a man drugging a woman and then raping her. It had this line in it: "If it wasn't for date rape I'd never get laid"

Seriously, b-e, you think the patriarchy is going to willingly give up their ability to control women through sexual violence? Fuck no! They're going to be kicking and screaming the whole way.

4. OMG! How many rapists were not put on trial
because "there isn't enough evidence" when there might have been enough evidence? x(
