Women-owned and women-friendly businesses?
Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I was very glad to find this group.

When I was at liberaloasis.com today, I saw a link to a coffee business that sells a coffee called "Cafe Femenino" (more below), and it occurred to me that...

While there are "buy blue" lists, it would also be nice to have a list of businesses that support women.

Do you know of women-friendly businesses you'd like to list here?

I look forward to reading the group. :hi:

P.S. About Cafe Feminino: it's a coffee sold via "Sacred Grounds Organic Coffee," at http://www.sacred-grounds.com . On the front page, it says:

Cafe Femenino is a coffee with a story as sweet and rewarding as its taste. In 2003, the first Northern Peru Women Coffee Producers Conference convened in Chiclayo. The women of Proassa organic coffee cooperative met to discuss their challenges, share experiences, search for ideas to improve living conditions, and to better understand the markets they are trying to reach with their coffee...Read more about Cafe Femenino

2. Thanks! I also thought if there are any businesses you personally like,
you might post them here, if you want.

If I run across any others or think of any more businesses that I've had experience with personally, I'll post them here.

4. This won't be relevant to a lot of people, but if you go to Japan
the Toyoko Inn hotels, a chain of no-frills hotels located all over the country, is not woman-owned, but all the managers are women.

The accommodations are on the level of a college dorm, except that you have a private bath and a broadband Internet connection in each room. Prices are between $50 and $70 per night, depending on the size of the city where they're located. The one I stayed at in Tokyo also provided coffee and raisin buns in the morning in the lobby.
