Geena Davis is going to act as President in a new TV series...
I don't know anything about it other than I saw the ads on the TV screens at the gym this morning.

I have missed seeing her as an actor and I'm thrilled she has landed such a role!

Heads up!

1. Past the edit time...I'm not a Hollywood star followerer. Subject matter.
Is why I posted it. I think it's odd, but true that a lot of great actors I loved seeing on the big screen have gone little screen. People like Gary Sinise (some crime show - don't know) and Glen Close - another crime show.

I read once that TV has become the smart actors landing place, since Movies have become GARBAGE.

I agree that movies are awful, but not everyone can duplicate Martin's success. I would love it if Geena's show had the same writers from West Wing.

3. Could be, but it's probably also because they can't get big screen roles
any more--not good ones. Since movies are being designed and built for teenagers, it's tough for middle-aged women who don't want to play kindly mothers or grandmothers to get movie roles, and it's hard to hide the natural consequences of not being 20 anymore on a huge screen.

I hope Davis' series is high quality and that she does well in it.

2. I've seen those ads too.
It's about time! And it's important that they're finally "allowing" a fictional woman president, because seeing things in fiction makes it easier to accept them in reality.

4. Sad that in the US we have only fictional women presidents, when
around the world women have led many other nations.

But don't forget, we're the greatest (first, best, most advanced, least bigoted, etc.) at everything! :sarcasm:

5. I read something here yesterday (will try to find it later)
that there's a line in the show after she becomes president by default that the cabinet members suggest she resign "for the good of the country". I can't wait to see her get to say "FU and the donkey you rode in on" to that one!

And :woohoo: too!
