World Cup Group Draw today at 12noon EST
on ESPN2. The big question: which will be this tournament's Group of Death?

1. USA gets a good draw,
but it looks bad for our chances in the round of 16. We'll almost certainly face Germany, who will probably prove far too big a hurdle.

Brazil, Ivory Coast, and Portugal seem to be the Group of Death, but only marginally so.

2. USA V England
I'm guessing we'll have plenty of you guys doing the decent thing and reminding us of 1950 in the run up!

The English press is portraying this as an easy group, but that doesn't mean that England can't cock it all up.

3. It was the most important match in the history of football, sir.
;)

Missing our best striker and our most efficient set-piece player (who is also a solid defender) will make the task of breaking your defense rather more difficult than I'd like.

5. That may be overly optimistic
In addition to England, Slovenia will not be a cake walk. I'm sure England would love to avenge the loss in 1950. Algeria may be the USA's only win if they aren't careful.

4. This draw makes me a bit nervous...
...England is England, but Slovenia is coached by Guus Hiddink, one of the best coaches alive. He had Korea playing lights out in 2002, and we got very, very luck to beat them (Friedel saved a penalty). Everyone is saying we got an easy draw, but I'm not so sure. The June 18th game against Slovenia is so very critical. We have to win that, regardless of the England result.
