Crystal Palace go into administration

Championship side Crystal Palace have gone into administration, according to administrators P and A Partnership.

The Eagles twice failed to pay players this season and chairman Simon Jordan had been searching for new investors to attract to the south London club.

Administrator Brendon Guilfoyle said: "This club has been in the spotlight with creditors pressing for payments and players anxious about wages.

"Our role is to find a buyer quickly to provide certainty for the future."

1. Rebecca Lowe is gonna cry

hate to see this but we are going to see a lot of it. Football is not immune to economic downturns. People cant afford the tickets prices and the clubs cant afford to pay the wages of top players especially with pay packets of over 100,000 GBP a week. It is not sustainable and something needs to be done.

2. Footballer's wages are the big problem

Even down here in the Championship where Palace play the players are on stupid money. That makes it very hard for football clubs financially, unless they have a Russian billionaire as an owner.
