Obama’s win big hit with Seahawks
I thought this was kinda neat. Especially when we often see highly paid athletes supporting Republicans.

RENTON – The Seattle Seahawks’ post-practice interviews with the media were nearly over on Wednesday afternoon, most players were heading out of the locker room toward team meetings.

That’s when resident disc jockey Deon Grant cranked up his stereo system, blasting Young Jeezy’s “My President is Black.”

The room turned electric, to the point that even offensive tackle Walter Jones did a little shimmy, all 330 pounds wiggling in his corner.

Even in the environment of a 2-6 football team struggling to turn around a season, Barack Obama winning Tuesday’s presidential election was reason for celebration.

My favorite part...

With Obama proposing to raise income taxes on anyone making more than $250,000, it would stand to reason that McCain would have been the candidate of choice for most members of the team.

But that clearly was not the case on Wednesday afternoon.

“Sometimes you have to do what’s best for the team, and I’m willing to do my part for the team to succeed,” safety Brian Russell said. “Hey, it’s not always about stats, right?"
