Saving big money on Groceries
I was busy with my Mom's 80th birthday last week so I did not do my usual shopping Two weeks ago I got $118 of groceries & Health and Beauty for $4.92 mostly sales tax. This week I got a free can of dog food reg 1.33, 3 bars of dial soap for .85 tax included reg 1.89-2.29(I include .05 for newspaper coupons in my calculations so I get a truer picture of the real cost). $152 of Domino's pizza for $46.00, 2 Blue bunny Ice Cream reg 4.99 2/4.99, 20% off the party decorations, supplies and cards at a warehouse store (all cards are .39 there), Pepsi 1.70 12-12 pack, 50% off the birthday cake, apple cider $2 reg 3.89. With rebates and Extra Care Bucks, or catalina printouts I often make a profit. So it is worth it to check the Sunday paper or surf a little for coupons/deals while you are watching TV on Sunday.

To take it further:

Coupon Mom:

Coupon database so you don't have to cut them all out every week. Link to get your Sunday paper delivered at rock bottom prices (often .99 a Sunday). Matches coupons weekly with Walmart, Target, Walgreen's, Rite-Aid and CBS as well as hundreds of grocery store chains in cities. Links to printable coupons. Freebies.

HotCoupons.com
http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/coupon.php
Coupon Database, tells you who takes expired coupons, who takes double coupons, internet coupon policies at each store. Threads that show you how to combine coupons, rebates and promotions. Phone numbers for CS. CVS google database in this weeks ad thread is awesome.
Links to on line rebate forms.

Honorable mentions:
Slickdeals.net (Note: this one is fast paced. Some deals expire quickly)
http://slickdeals.net/
check out the freebies forum

Note to newbies: Internet coupons cannot be copied. You can often print out 1-10 but they are coded and stores who take the copied coupons may not get paid for them and may ultimately start refusing them. So play nice.

(Tip: search for slickdeals: "FAR", "free after rebate" and "money maker". This summer Duracell and P&G had an in store Gift Card promotion at Kmart where you could combine manufacturer coupons and actually get the merchandise free with the overage on a gift card. I used the overage to buy school supplies foe one grade school and one middle school class, also on sale and with coupons and rebates. End of year is the best time for coupons and rebates.)
