Tom Friedman is a Dumbass....
I know that doesn't fit with his image that the MSM has helped to create. He was just on CNN with Wolfe Blitzer. But this guy is a friggin dumbass. He was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the invasion of Iraq, although he later backed off and criticized the way the war was handled. But he spouted all this bullshit about how it was going to bring democracy to that part of the world so it was worth the effort...and under his breath, he always seemed to be saying, and to make Israel much more safe from her surrounding enemies. Does he still think Israel is safer? This war has made Israel position much less safe - espcecially if Iran gets nuclear weapons and the Shias take over in Iraq. I am not one of those people that are impressed with Tom Friedman, sorry.

1. Me neither. He's always had this odd attitude, that when he makes
an error in judgment, it's because he has gotten new information, but when anyone else makes an error, it is because they are nitwits.

He doesn't impress me, either.

6. I've always thought him an ass.
He's pretty much par for the course in the supposedly "liberal" New York Times. Paul Krugman there is, to my way of thinking, filling the "token" role from the left that used to be filled by William Safire from the right.

Basically the entire New York Times credibility, along with that of the MSM as a whole, can be summed in two words: "Judith Miller."

11. Friedman is a cheerleader for the boss's team. Criminal warmonger.
"The hidden hand of the market will never work without a hidden fist," he wrote. "McDonald's cannot flourish without McDonnell Douglas. And the hidden fist that keeps the world safe for Silicon Valley's technologies to flourish is called the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps." Tom Friedman

Friedman: Head Cheerleader For The Boss's Team

by Anthony Arnove

It's hard to turn on the television or pick up a newspaper or go into a bookstore without seeing Thomas Friedman blaring at you.

Friedman writes a nationally syndicated column for the New York Times. His books on globalization and the Middle East are bestsellers--and are often praised by politicians and scholars. "Nobody understands the world the way he does," NBC's Tim Russert recently said of Friedman.

In April, Friedman won his third Pulitzer Prize, the most prestigious award in journalism, "for his clarity of vision, based on extensive reporting, in commenting on the worldwide impact of the terrorist threat ." He shared a Pulitzer in 1983 for the New York Times' international reporting and won another in 1988 for his coverage of Israel.
