Wow! Ford Dealer Calls Freeper On His Bigotry Toward Gays
A freep is having varitable fits over a Ford dealer telling him off for his anti gay bias. Here's the post from freeperville. It includes the email from the Ford dealer. Maybe we should send emails of support to the dealer because he's sure to get plenty of disgusting emails from the freeps.

Posted on 04/23/2006 8:56:03 AM PDT by nckerr

To all of my fellow freepers. I was on the net last month looking into buying a new car. When I stumbled on the AFA website saying that Ford is a huge sponsor of the Gay agenda in America. So I went and bought a Honda. I emailed Ford and my local dealer the following email:

Sir or Ma'am,

I urge you to contact Ford world HQ and let them know that customers like myself are no longer buying Fords. The reason is because of the unwaivering support of the homosexual agenda in America. The Detroit Free Press recently reported that Ford Motor Company "donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to homosexual groups, sponsors gay pride parades, and holds mandatory diversity training for employees."

With my hard earned money, I would be miffed to find out that my money is supporting causes contrary to my beliefs. With Ford losing 1.26 Billion in profits in the first quarter, it seems they would not alienate half of America. Unfortantely it will be hard working people like you that will suffer.

Nathan J Kerr Niles, MI

PS I just bought a loaded Honda Civic over a Ford Focus at $26,000 from Gurley Leep Honda because of the Ford decision alone. I try to support American companies so long as they do not take sides on such decisive issues.

Believe it or not, this is how he responded-

Dear Mr. Kerr,

Interesting how you think it is fine to sit in judgment of others. Buy all the Hondas you like because I would never do business with someone like you. We need more love and compassion in the world. Not hatred and bigotry.

Sincerely, Doug Campbell (Campbell Ford Niles, MI (Serves South Bend, In Niles, MI area)

I urge each of my fellow freepers to email their local Ford dealers to see just if this gay agenda is systemic in the local areas too,

1. I'm no expert, but that doesn't look like the sort of thing...
... a Ford representative would say or send to a disgrunted almost-customer.

To me at least.

He owns his dealership and has a contract with Ford. If we DUers can say it, so can he.

That happens very often, especially towns that have an "Auto Mile" full of dealerships.

My dentist is in private practice (a small business owner) ... he has no qualms whatsoever telling off customers (patients) that he perceives to be bigoted (or for other reasons) jack-asses. He will not hesitate to put it in writing.

9. Naw, it stinks out loud to me, too
especially the part about choosing a fully loaded Honda over the Focus, something that added nearly $10,000 to the bill. If that's the case, then religious nuts are even dumber than we thought.

I know because I priced everything recently.

58. I believe it.
Dealerships are independently owned.
First of all, his insane bigotry aside, some Joe Shmoe car dealer doesn't set Ford policy. He doesnt even WORK for Ford. If Freeper wanted to write anyone, he should have written to Ford Motor Company.
It seems like anything a normal human being would say. I'm sure this car dealer has dealt with people from all walks of life and doesn't have room for bigotry, unlike Freeper. It probably made him feel pretty good to tell that asshole off. I would have done the same.

Edited on Mon Apr-24-06 12:17 AM by Cronus Protagonist
Especially to someone who says he was in the market for an $11,000 car claiming to have paid more than double at a competitor's due to some perceived slight. No one does that. No one. That the man was lying is obvious, and Ford's policy is well established on the side of inclusion, not partisan bigotry.

In the trade, everyone has a nickname. He's surely a grinder and no grinder pays more than the lowest price he can get. Freeper = Grinder, you can count on it, so he's lying through his missing teeth.

seriously, the "fear" of a "gay agenda" centers on the notion that they can convince straight people to become gay.

you have to be seriously insecure about your own sexual orientation in order to have this fear.

Apparently, the Gay Agenda has been "misplaced"
http://www.fakegaynews.com/index.php/2006/03/gay-agenda-misplaced-feared-lost/
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest national gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender political organization is facing harsh criticism from other gay rights groups over the apparent loss of the 2006 Gay Agenda.

HRC spokesperson, Steven Fisher, broke the news yesterday at a press conference in New York. “We had this year’s final gay agenda drafted. We sent one of our interns to make copies, and he inadvertently left it on a crosstown bus on his way to Kinkos.”

The highly sensitive document, a political playbook of sorts for homosexual activists, was to be distributed to a select group of high-ranking gay rights leaders next month at the annual Lavender Law conference and Tea Dance.

Hello Doug

You should be aware that your information has been posted in a website that will probably generate a few twisted emails to you full of lies and hate.

Here it is:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1619987/posts

Freerepublic calls itself an "online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web.".
In reality it is a cesspool for all forms of hate and intollerance in this world. Anti-gay, anti-black, anti-Muslim topics abound.

I applaud your response to the hateful little nat that attempted to bully you. I highly doubt the individual bought a Honda Civic anyway. This group lies about everything they do and stand for.

is take one day and have everyone at DU email the American Fascist Association demanding that they stop pretending to represent christian America. It might be fun to issue a few demands of our own to the hate organizations, and mention that we'll boycott any business which sells services to any of their "churches." They can bottle their own office water. It's time we stood up to this bullying crap.

"Thank you for your help. I wondered where all the wackos were coming

I see he also replied below...very cool.
See, that's useful activism. Letting someone know where vile and dishonest attacks are originating from.

If Ford reads this topic they better hear this:
Doug Campbell is quite obviously a decent person and a valuable representative of Ford. Don't even DREAM of reprimanding Mr. Campbell over this. If it happens I hope Mr. Campbell let's us know. I will dig up some examples of hatefull racism and violent intollerance from freerepublic.com and advertise to the world that Ford chose to defend that element of society.
This has nothing to do with a "gay agenda" or even of supporting homosexual rights. It's about not bowing to intimidation & pressure to isolate a segment of society because a few "special interests" say you should.

Bravo to Ford.

He just happened to stumble on to the American Family Association website while Car Shopping? Huh? I'd love to know what stream of UNConsciousness flowed through this freeper's brain pan that day.

I always wind up at political forums and other websites that reflect my beliefs (by accident) when I shopping for cars, electronics or underwear. :sarcasm:

He just throws out AFA as if EVERYONE automatically knows which AFA he meant.

American Finance Association?
Association of Flight Attendants?
American Federation of Astrologers?
American Forensic Association?
American Fence Association? Like the one that's up his ass?
American Ferret Association? Um...Not going there. You can't make me.
Amateur Football Alliance?
American Fastpitch Association? Um...no way. You can't take me there, either.
Or maybe, the American Foundation of Aviculture? Birds do, and bees do it, we'll tell you how. Gasp!

Nah...You'd Have to Know it was the American Family Association straight off (all puns intended.) If this bozo bought a Honda, then I'm the Maharani of Rajasthan.

If what I read is true, that you told some nut to stick it because he believes Ford to be 'pro-gay' or whatever, it makes me doubly glad I still have my 99 F150! Wish I were in MI to buy a new one from YOU!

53. I think this could develop into a media story
if it gets to the right people. Both sides would go after this one. The religious conservatives might even decide to boycott Ford. The Democrats would congratulate Ford. It could work both ways.

How stupid would that be? I think the blowback effect would be a WHOLE bunch of gays and lesbians buying F150s and Mustangs. (Oh wait... they already do! Damn Ford DOES support the gay agenda!)

50. This Detroiter did!
Dear Sir,

I am just North of Detroit, and wanted to let you know that the next time we are in the market for a car I will gladly make the extra trip to your showroom. It is people like you that give me hope for the future of humanity.

I am sending this in response to reading your response received to a whack job from a far right web site. Thank you for being human. Let him have his "Honda". There were some who questioned the authenticity of your response. There are some who choose to believe a businessman would lack a conscience. Thank you for proving them wrong. What a sad commentary on the state of affairs here in the USA.

Thank you,

XXXXX X. XXXXXX

Dr. Mr. K
I like the idea of using extortion to promote your political ideas.
I have decided to try them myself. I am sending all my business acquaintances
including the papers I advertise with a copy of your letter and will encourage them not to employ
Nathan J K of Niles Mi. because I think they would be miffed to think there hard earn money would help support such an intolerant person spread such vile hatred. It's this kind of narrow minded thinking that has brought our great country to it's divided knees. So go forth and enjoy your new Honda Civic. Oh, studies show 87% of the Gay community drive Honda Civics. Don't let that slow down your waving at the other Civic drivers or wearing that favorite flowered shirt when your about.

28. If You Visit a Ford Dealer, Ask About the Escape Hybrid
Ford makes this nice SUV that doesn't guzzle gas
but you almost never hear anything about it.

EPA is 29 highway 34 city, (31/36 if you don't get 4WD).
We average about 30 mpg for mostly highway and mountain driving.
Our old RAV4 only got about 21.

62. freepers response:
Sir,

I do not "hate" anyone. I just don't feel that Ford Motor Co should be pushing an agenda of changing thousands of years of normal marriage. I love all people, but I (and the majority of Americans) feel marriage is between one man and one woman. And that is why Ford should be neutral on decisive issues. And being in sales myself, I know that the response you gave me is defintely not the way you address customers concerns- by calling them bigots.

Sir, in sales, word of mouth can be your greatest strength and/ or your greatest enemy. And calling a customer a bigot isn't smart salesmanship. Maybe you are the intolerant bigot against Christians or anyone that doesn't share your views.

Very Respectfully,

Nathan J Kerr
------------
Customer concerns? Sorry, but if the KKK comes into my store and starts burning crosses and telling me I shouldn't serve black people, I'm not going to sit down and discuss our differences amicably. I'm going to tell them to fuck off.
Then he basically tells the dealer to give up his backbone and decency for the sake of sales.
The last line is truly bizarre...since when did this have anything to do with Christians or anyone else? Chances are, this guy is a Christian himself.
Really sick how these fuckups can turn buying a car from Joe Blow in Shitsville Michigan into their glorious culture war. Truly dillusional people.
Normally, I support bi-partisan dialogue and free discussion as a rule. But not with sociopathic bigots with too much free time on their hands. I'd tell that guy to fuck off and stop harassing me.
Also worth noting...apparently Freepers don't buy products based on "American made" or even quality...but instead based on who other people have sex with.
What twisted, sick world they live in.

I think maybe moderators/admins don't bother enforcing that rule as long as it's positive for our cause. That makes sense to me. Malkin was an idiot and deserved it. A photo of Doug Campbell finishing a triathelon isn't going to hurt Doug, it can only help.

Interesting pointing out that rule though.

My concern is that Doug Campbell didn't ask to be thrust in the spotlight, so we shouldn't treat him like a poster boy.

It's a grey area I suppose. A picture of someone is private information, even if readily available on the internet elsewhere. As I've been told privately though, the post was made a full hour before Doug Campbell signed up. So, technically it's OK?

Unless Doug speaks up I guess.

I have had an interesting day dealing with some strange people from another website. While emailing a reply to a local individual, he underhandedly posted our conversation for all to see. Not what I had in mind and probably not what Ford Motor would consider good press. But I will not shrink from intimidation and will always stand up for treating people as I would want to be treated. Thanks to everyone on this board (which I am new to as well...really learning a lot today!) for their support. Mr. Kerr targeted me personally and I received a ton of postive wibes from everyone here. Thank you again.

I've been pretty po'd at Ford lately for discontinuing my car. I believe I may have muttered the word "ratbastards" a few times. hehehehe

But I'd be willing to switch to another model if I lived in Michigan just so I could buy it from you. You're a good, decent man, something there's been a shortage of lately. Thanks!

121. I took a Japanese history class my first year of college
Once a gay student asked the professor about the status of gays in Japan. The professor, a Canadian who had spent 15-20 years of his professional life studying and researching in Japan, replied, "Japan has a 1000 year tradition of two things: priesthoods and armies. Nobody can say for sure, but you can bet a lot of homosexual contact emerged from those institutions. Today sexual orientation is not an issue in Japan". I thought that was a creative answer.

I hardly ever think about it (except to be outraged at bigotry and hatred). So many Repukes just can't stop thinking about gay sex. I wonder if they realize that.

90. Did this freak let Honda know how bigotted he is?
I can't imagine they'd have been any too pleased if they'd known they were on a test drive with a flat-earther. Probably wised up and latched the trap before he had to drive 100 miles out just to find a dealer who could tolerate his intolerance.

When have they ever cared about peoples privacy? That's what they do...target individuals.

113. Mr. Campbell was indeed baited.

Here's what happened, IMO:

Mr. Kerr wanted to buy a Honda anyway. But he did not want to take shit from his freeper friends for buying a foreign-made vehicle. So his "research" was actually to find reasons why he "couldn't" buy a Ford. He saved his email to show his freeper friends so as to justify his purchase. Mr. Kerr was probably hoping for a polite, non-comittal response which he could use as "proof" of Ford's participation in the "Gay Agenda." Perhaps he was even looking for a better offer from Ford by a fellow Freeper. But Mr. Campbell's thoughtful response, which neither denied nor admitted Mr. Kerr's allegations but simply called Mr. Kerr on his bigotry, frosted Mr. Kerr right up. So Mr. Kerr decided to avenge Mr. Campbell's Christian-like ethical stance calling for an end to bigotry by secretly subjecting him to ridicule and boatloads of email spam.

As Ghandi said: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

The group that attacked me certainly speaks for no majority. Thank you again for your support.

168. Kick. This is about standing up to bigitry and intimidation.
It takes courage, and it's required in this day and age.

We all know the kind of swarming hatred that group can generate. I'm sure Doug Campbell hasn't heard the last of it.

The bigitry he was standing up against is a bit-player in this story. It could have been standing up against intimidation over anti-War remarks or Bush critisism. The important part is standing up.
