While looking at another site,
I found a young "conservative" chickenhawk who hit the perfecta of excuses for not serving.

snip

Sorry, but I'm fighting a completely different war, on my college campus.

Some of us younger folk need to stick around to make sure you liberals quit with the indoctrination of students.

Besides, I have a personal health issue that prevents me from signing up, which is something I DID consider back in high-school.

snip

A personal health issue like being full of chicken shit?

5. Health issue my ass...

Unless he's bleeding from his ears in an uncontrollable manner and is able to do something like sit in a chair and type, he could get in these days. I know an Army recruiter who took a determined young man who was 80 pounds overweight with asthma and was legally blind without corrective lenses, had dropped out of high school, had a drunk driving conviction and made him a private in the infantry.

then the muslims will win and there will be no point in his fighting libruls over here.

what's really funny, that he's "fighting" liberalism, using college as an excuse, just like a vietnam draft dodger. too bad these morans can't comprehend irony.

9. As Phil Ochs put it forty years ago...
I'm just a typical American boy from a typical American town.
I believe in God and Senator Dodd and keeping old Castro down.
And when it came my time to serve I knew better dead than red.
But when I got to my old draft board, buddy, this is what I said:

CHORUS:
Sarge, I'm only eighteen, I got a ruptured spleen, and I always carry a purse.
I got eyes like a bat, my feet are flat, and my asthma's getting worse.
O think of my career, my sweetheart dear, and my poor old invalid aunt.
Besides, I ain't no fool, I'm a goin' to school, and I'm working in a defense plant.

I've got a dislocated disc and a racked up back, I'm allergic to flowers and bugs.
And when the bombshell hits, I get epileptic fits, and I'm addicted to a thousand drugs.
I got the weakness woes, and I can't touch my toes, I can hardly reach my knees.
And if the enemy came close to me, I'd probably start to sneeze.

(CHORUS)

I hate Chou En Lai, and I hope he dies, but one thing you gotta see.
That someone's gotta go over there, and that someone isn't me.
So I wish you well, Sarge, give 'em Hell, Yeah, Kill me a thousand or so.
And if you ever get a war without blood and gore, Well I'll be the first to go.

(CHORUS)

Some things never change. :eyes:

18. I'm fighting the REAL enemy--you liberals!
Sad thing is, it's not just cowardice. They really do see the war as the way to get rid of liberals once and for all, to institutionalize a conservative national security state in a practically one party system. War as killing an enemy overseas, well, that's important, but there's others expendable for THAT.

I was just amazed that someone could actually seriously type such a thing, and mean it.

22. 'The indoctrination of students'...
It's called getting an education. Some of these people really resent having to grow up and are aggressively proud of their lack of critical thinking skills. If I didn't despise the little mouth breathers so much I might pity them their stupidity.

24. I bounce between loathing and pity.
The whole "why does a wasp sting? Because it is a wasp" thing.

Maybe they can't help being stupid.

I'm not so smart either, but at least I can *admit* it, something which escapes the conservatives.

26. I'm sort of the opposite

A few years ago, (actually, Nov.2002), I was willing to delay or even forego a graduate education altogether just to enlist in the Army before the Iraq War invasion that I knew was bound to happen. (No, I wasn't a Bush fan or believed Saddam was behind 9/11. It was more like I realized "Hey! All these other guys have served but I haven't.") Anyway, I was rejected for health reasons (for being on a particular prescription drug -- not exactly what I was expecting when I entered the recruiter's office). Even though the recruiter was a nice guy, arguing with him did no good, and unfortunately I wasn't able to get cease taking the Rx.

So the chickenhawk you're talking about might not necessarily be a chickenhawk if he actually made an effort to enlist (or if he has an obvious disability which would make an appt. a waste of everybody's time). But, judging from the "I'm fighting a completely different war, on my college campus..." comment, it's probably a good thing that this person is not entrusted to protect somebody's back.

Oh yeah, that's right. Just another coward chickenhawk.

They love war on teevee. It is the only source of pride in their miserable lives. It makes them feel superior when the USA bombs the crap out of a 3rd world country. But they don't want to participate. it's like a video game to these assholes. They are contemptible.

"I've gotta guard the border and keep those lazy no-good Messicans OUT!!"

whatever happened to that story last year in that ritzy Pittsburgh suburb, where the mother of the interested teen told the army recruiter that "Military service isn't for OUR kind of people?"
