"These tough sentencing laws were instituted for a reason. The American people, including liberals, demanded them. Don't you remember the crack cocaine epidemic? Crack babies and out-of-control murder rates? Liberal judges giving the bad guys slaps on the wrist? Finally we got tough, and the crime rate has been falling ever since, so what's wrong?"

1. What an asshat!
I really wish he was poor and black.

He'd get a real taste of the "justice" he's so ready to dish out to everyone else.

5. Call be on my tin foil bonnet, but I always figured stiff sentences
for non violent drug offenses were partly to create a VERY CHEAP labor force for corporations, again, at the tax payers expense. Prison labor is a big industry. For a few cents per hour paid to prison workers, companies can slap a 'Made in the USA' label on products and sell them to a public that assumes American workers got a decent wage to make the item. It probably figures into decisions on which items to buy for many consumers.

Fact is, Rush is worthless and would not be a productive worker in prison. The Corporarcy figures he is more useful to them on air.
