Bill Frist has some of the worst political instincts I have ever seen
He actually thinks that thrree tankfuls of gas is going to mollify an irate population, even if it is at the expense of the oil companies?

He has backed off using that approach..But jeez... this guy might even out-dumb George Allen by the time of the primaries.

He tried ham handedly to push through the most consvative approach to immigaration reform and was shot down by hiw own party. He has waffled all over the place on fed funding of stem cell research. He is apparently going to bring up a constituitional amendment on Marriage in June in an absolutely transparent attempt to curry favor with the base.

Even the Religious whackos who might support the effort in their heart of hearts are going to see this for what it is.

I am about ready to declare that Frist will not run for Prez, because it is a fool's mission.

Who is in line to replace him as leader? This guy has to be an embarassment to the other GOP Senators.

1. I hope they keep him
I am not hopeful, but I'drather see him in power than some one with better political instincts (until Dems take over, of course. After that I want a political genius in power).

15. We All Thought Dubya Couldn't Possibly "Win" Too
The Rethuglican machine is capable of installing ANYONE as pResident.

I don't go for the "hope they pick some batshit crazy fundy cause he's sure to lose" anymore,
because even the most batshit crazy fundie may beat any Democrat in what passes for elections these days. :scared:

You must drive a Honda :)

It'll buy me eleven (550cc motorcycle)

Most of my neighbors will only get two...maybe

I am grateful for that.

I am sure that Frist IS an embarrassment for GOP senators ... Is he an embarrassment for GOP voters (I don't know ....I guess I'll need to google his approval ratings)

8. It's not just him, it's the whole Republican leadership.
They proposed giving $100 to each American as hush money, so that people wouldn't speak up about opening the ANWAR.

Had ANWAR not been attached to the $100 "rebate," more people might have been for it. People have come around--they see the true agenda of Republicans.

man has no instinct.. I wonder if he makes these choices on his own, or if he's got some really bad advisers? Either way, it's his name, and he's ruined it.. I really think a big part of his problem is the pandering, he doesn't think about what it makes him look like to the majority.. He messed up on the UEA deal too, at first he came out against it, and then he caved to the pressure of * in the end, and totally pissed off the puke base.. He seems to have a hard time standing for anything, and when he does stand, it's on the wrong side..

12. I think it's the PR guys they hire.
You know, "wear a blue shirt, roll the sleeves up, hold your arms out to the side like you're a tough guy, act like you're concerned about this issue, wear a red tie, smirk like you know better than someone else, wink at the reporters like they're in on the joke, talk with a fake southern accent when you're in the south...."

13. He is polling beneath Rudy and McCain
He has this HCA stock problem.
The Religious right is going to go for Allen before Frist.

I don't think he has the "fire in the belly to be President". I don't think he knows how to play the game. Most importantly

He does not get passed New Hampshire. If McCain and Allen run.

jello.

guiliani has too much blackmail to be the president. frist is still pretty clueless.

14. Frist has an ego Hell wouldn't have
He was a cardiologist, or a thoracic surgeon. He's not used to people talking back to him. He's not used to have to convince people to do what he wants.
