3. I voted Iran
The prospect of Bush attacking them and leading to WW3 scares the crap out of me.

17. You are so right, sfexpat
That was my vote too. If we can't get these people out of there, or at least take back the House, I think there is not a lot more we can do about the rest of the problems, regardless of how hard we may try.

7. Other: Universal health care. ALWAYS universal health care.
It effects SO many other issues. Granted, so do other things, but it's my pet issue.

8. Dishonesty is the most important issue. It lies at the root of all of
our current messes. They are getting away with cheating on a grand scale, while we sit back and watch children, soldiers, human beings dying...losing homes, jobs, and their very basic needs..all because of lies.

20. Right
as a society, we are ethically challenged. People often can't even recognize a serious lie, and when it's pointed out to them they don't care.

I agree, no controls on cheating and corruption has brought us where we are.

10. Other:continuing to press on about all, that they lie & cheat repetitively
all. Most important is that King George has assumed power beyond what he is allowed to have and more and more and more issues will be popping up the longer we let it go on.

Take your pick. Those are the three most important, in my mind.

15. I am guessing that election fraud will get the most votes but
the problem is that most voters (out side of DU) are pretty confident their vote is counted.

16. hard to pick...
the Iran situation scares the bejeebers out of me but nothing will change until we can all vote, and all our votes count. Maybe someone will invade us and install a democratic government:sarcasm:

18. JHC! Where to start?
There are a dozen crisis-scale problems. Which is number one? - the one that'll kill us soonest, I suppose.
Iraq war
Iran war
wage stagnation
Federal debt
Trade deficit
fuel prices
Immigration
Unitary executive
Election fraud
Generalized Repub corruption
Mishandling of security
Global warming
Real estate bubble
Corporate control of the media

Universal health care, I guess

23. voted economy
i feel the economy is artificially buoyed up because of the corporate super profits. I honestly don't think joe schmo middle class and jean schmeen poverty class are doing so well. Betcha there are a lot of jobs outsourced, folded, merged, or downsized these days. Plus I don't believe the unemployment figures. Once the unemployment runs out I think they quit counting a person as looking for work. The minimum wage is stagnated yet all prices abound. The repubs have a phobic hatred of all unions, worker rights, living wages, health care, pensions, and decent conditions. But of course I live in a right to work state where you can be fired for no reason and the minimum wage has been $5.20 per hour for the last nine years. Think what a gallon of $3.00 gas and and a gallon of $3.00 milk means to these people. Wait until the big 'entitlement' cuts start hitting Medicaid and food stamps. It won't just be our brown brothers and sisters out marching in the streets. We are a pen swipe from martial law and the round-ups and internment camps won't just be for out of towner's anymore.
