"The Whole Country Is Paralyzed By His Cowardice."

Cowardice

This really is the issue. Brazen it out, burn off men and money, not admit there's any real problem and then pass it off on the next guy who will take the blame.

The president lacks the courage to change course. The whole country is paralyzed by his cowardice.

1. Bush says, we must immediately plan for someone else to act in the future
to sacrifice their wealth and political futures to save the nation. Like his successor, or congress, or god, or the Iraqis, or whoEVER. It'll be like Clinton all over again. He'll get blamed for raising taxes AND for deficits. They are already getting set to blame democrats and liberals for losing Iraq and for gas prices.

2. That's Gee Dubya's "common thread"...
...see, when Karl Rove had a dream of taking someone like George Bush and "making him presidential," people miss the most important part.

Someone who was already "presidential" would have no need of Karl Rove.

So Rove's interest was in finding a facade, a prop, a placeholder...

George W. Bush is a failed businessman. He went A.W.O.L. on the National Guard. He's a classic Oedipal nut job. He's a coward.

And he's got two more years in the White House.

Of course he lacks courage. And he's not going to find it between now and January 2009.

3. I agree. But, it seems that we Americans are paralyzed by
our own cowardice, as well.
