Darfur on TV. Kudos to ER for their portrayal of the
tragedy in Darfur. If we can't get the news to shine a light on this tragedy, at least we have writers willing to tell the story in their own way.

Tonight I watched ER for the first time in a very long time. It was very good at showing the ugliness of the government thugs, and the innocence of the victims of this genocide.

So hats off to the writers and actors of ER. They are telling a story that is being ignored by the Main Stream Media.

1. When it involves black folk, no one really gives a dayum.

5. I was thinking about the same thing.
Weird...and sad. American people (generally) seem to pay attention only when it's shown on TV and presented as entertainment.

7. The Sudanese crisis is so bad that we'll be kicking ourselves
Talk about missing the message of "Never Again!" The Sudanese crisis is the worst thing to happen since the famines and gulags under Stalin in the old USSR. The media is covering it, barely, but keeping it off the front page -- it's mainly part of the Angelina Jolie News. It's disgusting (and I would think that Ms. Jolie agrees).

Yet we (Republicans, and too damn many ultra-Leftists, to my own shame) were so upset when Eeevil Bill bombed "The (sic) Sudan" after breathless intelligence reports assured him that they were cranking out nerve gas by the barrel.

Once again, we are going to regret our ignorance. After spending a trillion dollars to "secure the oil" in Iraq, we can't do more than send a pittance's worth of food to the Sudanese people; Gawd Awmighty forbid that any effective action be taken against the Janjawid.

Don't get me started ...

8. It could be the Janjawid is cleansing the area for the oil companies.
You don't want a large population wanting a piece of the revenues from the oil under their land.
