1. yeah.. WTHell is he up to anyhoo..
S.1955 will override state bills that insist on coverage for mammograms, pap tests, birth control, diabetic supplies etc etc

Oh, wait a minnit... His big hospital & medical interests would make MORE MONEY if this stuff were paid for retail, right?

action needed: National call in day May 3 Stop Lose Your Health Care

ConsumerWatchdog.org.
- send a fax to your Senators today (free)
http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/healthcare/AHP/

May 3, which begins in 20 minutes, is NAtional Call in day to stop the Lose Your Health Care Bill. I am posting a copy of the Consumers Watch notice that has pertinent information. As I find them, I will post talking points for the medical issues in the bill your concerned about, like womens health care, diabetes, cancer screenings. If you have these, please post.

National Call-In Day to Stop Junk Insurance: Call Wednesday, May 3rd!
Call 1-800-828-0498 on May 3rd and tell your Senators to VOTE NO on S. 1955.

Your faxes slowed the progress of the junk health insurance bill under consideration in the U.S. Senate. Now, join Americans across the country for a national call-in day and tell your Senators to VOTE NO on S. 1955 to protect your health care and stop junk insurance.

Call 1-800-828-0498 on the national call-in day, Wednesday, May 3rd.
Call before 5PM Eastern Time. You will be connected with the Senate switchboard. Ask for your Senator's office.
Tell the person who answers, or leave a message: Stop junk health insurance and VOTE NO on S. 1955. The line may be busy on your first try, so keep dialing.
Call 1-800-828-0498 again, ask for your second U.S. Senator, and leave your message with that office too.
Don't know who both of your U.S. Senators are? Click here to search by state.

Learn more about the bill. S. 1955 (Enzi-WY) will take away state patient protections and allow HMOs and insurers to replace your real health coverage with junk policies. A vote could be scheduled as early as this week, or we could stop it in its tracks. Call your Senators today!

Key Issues at Stake:

Everyone's existing comprehensive coverage could be replaced by junk policies that ignore state Patients' Bill of Rights laws passed in 41 states.
Insurers could sell inferior coverage at higher rates based on our gender, age, and where we live even though this type of discrimination is illegal in many states.
Essential state protections such as the right to visit an OB/GYN, cancer screenings, bans on "drive thru" deliveries, and guaranteed second opinions are at risk.

Patients who buy this kind of junk insurance are left with hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills because their plans cover only a fraction of the real costs of health care. Click here to read some of these patients' stories.
And tune in to a discussion of how the bill will effect your health coverage on the PBS show NOW this Friday, May 5th.
