That is, we can't get overconfident when it looks like we're almost guaranteed victory. Remember, Kerry won all the battles (debates) but all it took was a little Diebold to make him lose the war. No matter how good it looks for us, we CAN'T let ourselves become overconfident, ever! These people will do whatever it takes to win, even if it means stationing minutemen at the polls to gun down blacks and registered Dems who try to vote. The devil can and will cheat at his own game, and so will the Repubs.

1. I will personally wage war
on any "analyses" which show a "99.999%" chance of taking back congress. Exactly what lazy people want to hear.

2. DISCIPLINE
None of this childish "I won't back the nominee at the top of the ticket because of my pet obsession." We can't afford tangents and excursions. Not this time.

3. I agree - Dems were complacent in 1994 because they had WH and congress.
I believe alot of the press coverage now is a set up to make Dems overconfident so they don't feel the urgency to make sure they vote.

5. quite true, so how come we haven't had more candid discussions about who
we should have run instead of Kerry or if he was the right choice.

In case anyone's interested, I just posted a story on the matter:
