4. Not to come to his defense, he did say that he had been told

by senior Whitehouse advisors. This is the spin that the Whitehouse is trying to put on it. If it had been in the works for a couple of weeks, you can rest assured that a replacement or temporary replacement would have been at his side. And it would not have been dumped on a Friday afternoon.

9. "He's going to look like an idiot."
Only to the 6 or so people in the country who are both paying attention and equipped with sufficient wit to understand what's going on.

5. Hmmm. . .we need a person who loves torture and death and can
rationalize death and torture as good.

I know. . .ALBERTO GONZALES!!!!

So, who will take over as AG? We need someone who has no respect for the constitution and civil liberties!

I know. . .JOE ARPAIO (Republican sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona <Phoenix's county>)

10. Nice try Timmy, but your version doesn't make sense.
The announcement of Goss' resignation was an abrupt surprise to the entire press corps.

That's not how you handle something that's been in the works for weeks, as Timmy claims. Hell, no. If this had been in the works, they'd have a successor lined up, they'd have a better excuse, they'd just be smoother about it.

Sorry, Tim. I'm not buying it. And I imagine the "smoking gun" that brought down Porter Goss so abruptly will emerge in a similar manner.
