Why did Wolfe just say "Shrub has six months to turn poll #'s around?"
Why only six months? Does he mean if he doesn't by the Nov. elections, he's toast? Does he know something we don't?????

1. I assume the implication is that otherwise, repubs will lose...
... at least one house of Congress, at which time republicans will learn what the word "subpoena" means.

9. Can you imagine?
Man, if we can take back even one chamber, I'll be singing "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" all day on Wednesday (much to the chagrin of my coworkers, of course).

12. My friends, that will be an almighty CHORUS
not a solo, not a duet, not a small choir, but a mighty chorus heard all the way to the seats of power.

15. Woohoo! Can we make it like that one xmas carol?
You know, the one about "those silver bells" with the chorus/harmony that goes "ding, dong, dong dong..."?

That would RULE!

:)

2. They had also just shown the poll numbers showing people
want the Dems to take over Congress so IMO he was just talking about Republicans maintaining control of Congress.

5. November's in...
6 months...so the Repugs have the following options to sink or swim...
save their own asses and demand impeachment of Chimperor and co. or start packing if they continue to stand behind the sinking ship of Capt. "Crunch" Chimpie...If you were a Repug what would you do?...and of course Diebold would go into voter fraud overkill to save them...

3. He would become a "lame duck", without control of both
houses of Congress.

house and senate -- and what does Cheney do? - he resigns due to health reasons because it ain't no fun when others over-rule you!

10. You're right. Cheney would be a lame, limp Dick. Viagra wouldn't
help him.
He would have more time to spend hunting. That very thought sends shivers up my spine.

7. Maybe. You're presuming they grow spines once they get a majority
That's when DU will become important--as a rallying point for people who want to write to the Democrats, who sometimes are susceptible to pressure from constituents.

17. Investigations would start, BUT never underestimate the power of the press
Edited on Fri May-05-06 05:28 PM by SoCalDem
As soon as they start, the press will be reporting about the "piling on...gratuitous revenge...move forward..blah blah blah"..

The country is in DIRE straits, and even though the repubes DID it, I think they will "skate", because for dems to "waste time" on investigations and retribution would be percieved and reported as "not paying attention to the things that are important"..

I have seen this all before, and unfortunately, that's how it works when democrats are in power...and *² still has pardon-power, so I don't see too many dems willing to stick their own necks out to really hammer these guys..

8. They're Never Going To Allow It
They will let the Dems pick up some seats, but there is no way they're going to allow them to get enough in either house to get control, which would result in subpoena powers and chairmanships.

I pray I'm wrong, but I realize that they have the power to make things go their way, even when all signs say they won't.

19. I saw that too
a nice little Glib, FLIP remark tossed in there that says more than Mr Ambien Himself realized as to his support of this REGIME..

I call him "Mr Ambien" because that hollow, monotonous mouth of his and bland little piggy eyes, along with a weedwhacked fake looking beard all add up to a guy that puts me to SLEEP immediately and there appear to be hallucinations involved..

Like "Bush is god..Bush is god.. Bush is god.. there is no foul play.. there is no foul play.."
