Who's more of a threat: Gore or Hillary?
Both are serious contenders--they're both brilliant. But Gore wins hands down. He has the advantage of being raised in a political family--he knows how things work politically, what should be happening--moreso than Hillary, and he has pure integrity. He is a serious threat--he needs a good flamesuit because they are going to start attacking him on all fronts.

8. Mine too...
I think his campaign would blow any pub in the country out of the water now! And...I think he'd make a better president now, than he would have made in 2000. I think he can lead America out of the wilderness!

20. Gore/Clark!
What a great pair.
Tennessee and Arkansas.
Veterans.
No IWR vote to defend.
Plus Gore already won once.

Thanks for posting. I'm going to imagine Al Gore and Wes Clark leading the USA all day.

24. I like that. Or, Gore/Feingold. Also we have other strong
candidates to run with Mr. Gore.

9. Gore is coming to Houston in early June, and
I have comp tickets because I work with the Progressive Forum, the organization sponsoring the event. I jokingly suggested that they give me the mic during Q&A so I can ask him to run in 2008 and save us all, and they said "we'll do it if you do it".

So I may end up doing exactly that.

Gore/Clark in 2008!

15. A threat to who or what?? Both would be serious threats to neocons but...
....if I have to make a choice:shrug: I'd go with Al Gore as Pres and Hillary Clinton as VP.:applause: :applause: That would drive the neocons absolutely batty:bounce: but it would be a phenomenal team for the US.:patriot:

16. And one thing about Gore is his really good judgement
His first judgement after getting the nomination in 2000 was to pick a truly outstanding Ct. Senator as his running mate. Just a mind boggling good choice.

25. He made several bad mistakes in 2000, But, I believe that he
wouldn't do so again in 2008. He has learned a lot from the 2000 run.

18. I think Gore is my choice this time around
but I wouldn't be unhappy with the Clintons either. I think Gore would be the guy to start to clean up the global warming mess, but Bill and Hill would easily reclaim the support of the rest of the world. Either way it's a win/win.

19. Any one mentioned as one of say the top 10 people are serious contenders
Being from a political family isn't important - it may in fact mean you went into it from a sense you should. I think Bill Clinton had a more innate sense of politics than Gore. Integrity is hard to measure - Although Gore had a clean rputation, I would put Kerry above either of them, as he is the only one of these 3 who took important substantial stands that were garrenteed to hurt him politically, but which he felt were the right thing to do (BCCI and his anti-war role are the most obvious ones; voting against Clinton's politically motivated DOMA when he knew he wanted to run in 2004 is another.)

If Gore was running, he would develop an adgenda. I would want to see where he now is on a lot of issues to even decide if I prefer him to Hillary. I would also need to know where Hillary stands. Because he is not running, Gore can use the issues he wants to speak on - a candidate will be asked anything. With Gore, there is the Conservative Representative and Senator, the DLC VP, the somewhat more populist candidate and the angry righteous critic in recent years. There is a consistent trend there in the correct direction, but there are many issues where I haven't a clue where his current position is.

My real hope is that the candidate that I have been more impressed with than any in my lifetime runs again and that the media lets people see his rallies and lets people hear him speak. John Kerry may be the strongest voice for American values in our generation.

If there was any justice in the world, I'd call him my President now. Hillary just doesn't add up in comparison.

29. Hillary is much more of a threat to Democratic chances of winning.
Too much of a polarising figure, even within the party. If she gets the nomination I can almost guarantee that a significant number of voters who would have otherwise voted Democratic will cast their ballots for a third-party candidate instead. In fact, I'll put money on it.
