Perverted Justice members deputized in Ohio for Dateline Show
In Ohio, in order for prosecutors to file the most serious charges, a police officer needs to be involved in the online chat or phone conversation.

Since in this case, Perverted-Justice members are the decoys, the sheriff’s department temporarily deputized the Perverted-Justice volunteers who were in our house.

Like the show or not (and what they do) I find it interesting that a law which was in place was so easily worked around (essentially making it a mute law imho).

1. The PJers
are more qualified to do this work than a lot of law enforcement people, so this is not unreasonable.

Perverted Justice rocks! I post on their boards on occasion and wish I had more time to be involved.

3. Understand that
I read there off and on as well.

The point to me is - why have this law made as such when law enforcement can just side step it, and what other states have such a law?
