Lindsey Graham is responsible for Ms. Alito's tears- and she
has every right to express emotion.
That she is being USED by the republicans as some kind of a 'prop' or 'player' is what I most fervently object to.

No one wore a purple band-aid belittling her Vietnam wounds- No one made fun of her, OR her husband- No one suggested that her children were the result of an affair- NO ONE in the hearings addressed her, OR her husband with anything other than common decency-

That her spouse is undergoing thorough questioning, and having to account for his history, associations, and actions is something that must happen. That Graham decided to play her- (and I'll tell you that would piss the hell out of me, if I were her, especially as I watched the way I was being used to garner sympathy- and my emotional release was plastered all over the media- "Oh, poor me"- She didn't say anything- She isn't accusing the Dems of labeling her husband anything- the only person who used the word bigot in assosiation with mr.Alito, was lindsay Graham-.... If my spouse needed to have the repubs and their media moguls pretend I was brought to tears by 'bullying' in order to to get him through the hearings, I'd WANT him to fail-)

I have no beef with ms.Alito- We should dump this load of shit right where it belongs --in lindsey Graham's lap- He is a pimp. And was trying to deflect the screw up that Specter was, in relation to Kennedys not being willing to just 'let it drop'.

1. Of course the media won't see it that way
It's those big bad Democrats and of course the sheeple will fall for it--hook, line and sinker.

From the Washington Post...

Referring to the flap over the Concerned Alumni of Princeton, Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) asked Alito, "Are you really a closet bigot?" Replied Alito, "I'm not any kind of bigot."

Graham said the issue smacked of "guilt by association" and emotionally told Alito,"I am sorry you had to go through this. I am sorry your family had to sit here and listen to this."

At that point, Alito's wife, Martha-Ann, began to weep and briefly left the hearing room.

14. And Lindsay you fing freak
we're you equally sorry that the Clinton family had to go through the shit you put them trough during the impeachment

and are you sorry that as a member of the fing judiciary committee you COACHED the nominee - that is so far beyond disgusting I can't stand it

so listen Mr Alito chose to join a racist and sexist organization and chose to brag about it on a resume to appeal to the freaks in the Regan admin who were going to hire him - I say too fing bad you asked for it you got it - how in God's name could anyone join an organization like that and then feign shock that people might just wonder if you're a racist and a sexist.

3. Kennedy's smackdown of Specter SHOULD have been the lead news story
Not Mrs. Alito's tears.
Graham sucks.

4. Disgusting
LG was absolutely disgusting. If anyone thinks Scalito is a bigot he can thank LG for his performance today and also himself for bragging he was a member of a conservative racist organization when he wanted a Reagan Adm. job and then trying to deny it now.

Plus LG shouldn't be in these hearings since he is one of the ones who rehearsed Scalito and gave him the answers he should use.

10. I think they need to be called out for the way they skew things-
I don't EVER take anything I hear (newsbite) style- as something other than gibberish-
If people would really listen to the whole story in context- as boring, and disturbing, and time consuming as it is, the 'public' would likely be singing a FAR different tune- about everything that has happened since 1999.

8. You're right!
He was the one who made her cry! In addition, I was thinking about his little tirade about abortion not being something that should be decided by judges, but by legislators. Just how many bills has Mr. Holier-Than-Thou Lindsay Graham introduced that would outlaw abortion? They have the majority in both houses and a dunce-in-chief that would sign their legislation. What are they waiting for? Go ahead, repigs, make my day!

13. I also think the way the repubs attacked the
"stare decisis" loop-hole that Alito was using to deflect his stand on Roe, asking where it appeared in the Constitution, and making him look the fool took its toll- Colburn was it? and another fella-
They sure made Alito look uncomfortable, and as if they'd pulled down his trousers in front of the senate.

15. I'm Sorry If Her Feelings Were Hurt.... BUT For The Past Two
days she's been throwing daggers at the Dems as she sat behind her husband. I noticed it right away and was pretty put off by her behavior.

Having said that, I certainly don't think ANYONE should be gleeful about her reaction today. I don't think it was something she did on purpose, but it is a bit strange that a person who must have been around the "political block" once or twice would be so weak as to be unable to withstand criticism.

It has only made even more unhappy about the prospect of having Alito on the bench. He really turns me off, and I think he's been playing fast and loose with some of his answers.

L. Graham actually irked me too... I had been thinking he was more of a moderate, but hey what do I know??

Stuff just keeps going on and on and on and on, and no matter what WE are made to look like the "bad guys!" Pretty disgusting!
