The Sopranos

Tony Soprano to Paulie Walnuts in a restroom after an accident took place on a ride at an Italian feast that Paulie was running. He was as usual doing it on the cheap. Possible lawsuits and negative press followed.

Paulie: Hey, T.

Tony: "You're doing a heckuva job there Brownie!"

3. It's happening on almost every episode...
...a week or two ago his daughter Meadow talked about how Bush is using fear to rob us of our civil liberties.

I kid you not.

If you have the opportunity to watch, watch. You will not be disappointed.

6. Gotta tell ya...

...I'm Italian, and I grew up around the "element" that would one day become real-life "Sopranos"...and as much as I detest stereotypes, in MY little corner of the world, the F word was used often and emphatically.

I'm talking small-town Massachusetts with a heavy Italian population, and high school kids who are probably either dead or in jail by now. John Mellencamp can romanticize small town life all he wants to...for me, it was a real-life case of "Mean Streets."

And I say that as a very, very proud Italian.

5. They certainly are on a roll this season against...
the current Maladministration! I don't remember the show ever being this political. They've taken swipes at fundie preachers, pharmacists denying contraception, the incompetent government response to Katrina, erosion of civil liberties, and more that I'm forgetting because it's late and I need to get to bed (!). They even worked in a subtle jab against "Sanitorium."

8. My "issue" is with continuity or lack thereof.
It doesn't seem to flow as well as in seasons past. As an example, Christopher and his pregnant girlfriend seemed to come out of nowhere. And that "Kevin Finnerty" episode was torture. But a big "yes" re the Bush bashing.
