What kind of boost would * get from a big capture or other Fall suprise?
Edited on Mon May-08-06 02:31 AM by ECH1969
I wonder what pulling Zarqawi or Bin Laden out of a hat or another Fall suprise like an attack would boost * ratings.

I think the first two would probably win him back his base for a few months and get him back maybe into the mid 40s. I suspect the third would be up to how big the attack was. The 5th anniversary of 911 would be a prime target if an attack was being planned.

1. The overlay would be an assault on Iran. He thinks it will re-establish
him as a "war president," but the reaction is likely to be overwhelmingly negative.

I don't think * is going to capture bin Laden.

But I'm much less sure about "diplomacy" regarding Iran.

I don't think this administration sees 50% approval again, ever.

3. Bush could buy Bin Laden's head from the ISI for a couple billion
Bin Laden is alive today by in large because the ISI has been using him to mooch off the US government and every couple months they had over another al-Qaeda #3.

understand your reference and the context.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

7. Not much if any.........
severe buyer's remorse has set in with the American public. It's like buying a lemon of a car........you may have to keep making the payments but you can't wait until it's over and you can get rid of the damned thing. Nothing is going to change your mind about that car. It's a bad piece of machinery and has brought you nothing but headaches. As the payment book gets thinner and thinner hope returns, it's almost over, there's light at the end of the tunnel. But you're NEVER going to change your opinion about that damned car.
Same with bush right now. People have seen what a lemon this moron is and nothing is going to change their minds. Oh, and most will never buy another car from that manufacturer again, which means the Republican party. There are some who have strict brand loyalty (to Republicans) even IF they did get a lemon so they'll think it's a fluke and buy from that manufacturer again and again. However, most people aren't that stupid and want to try something else. A majority will try a new manufacturer (Democrats) and see if they like that model any better. I think this bodes well for the Democrats in November. They want to let the current manufacturer know that they're NOT HAPPY with their product and the way they do business!

8. The Scary Part Is...

...to what lengths might these paranoids go, in order to keep subpoena power out of the hands of Democrats.
