Girls State
Recently, I have been selected to represent my school at Texas Bluebonnet Girls State 2006. I can't tell you how big of an honor this is for me. At Girls State, we learn how to set up our own government, and how to campaign for state offices. And on one of the days we are there, we get to go to the capitol in Austin and have real sessions in the House and in the Senate. I also get the opportunity to form committees, write up legislation and debate about other's legislation. Another thing, two girls will be selected to go to Girls Nation where they get the opportunity to meet the President. Oh man, what would I say if I had time to talk to Mr. President Bush. :D (any ideas?) I won't be leaving until June, but I just wanted to share my excitement. Now, my question is- do any of you know any girls who have participated in this program? Or have participated in it yourself?

Have a good day.

But they know that the decision I made was an informed one. Dinner with the family is always a pleasant experience,

5. I did it in Illinois is the late 70's, and ran for Governor...
I lost becasue I ran on issues and my worthy opponent gave a auper-sappy speech about love (sigh). The gals ate it up. Keep that if you run for office.

You will also probably get recruitment material from West Point, as we did.

It's a fascinating experience and you'll make great friends there.
