ISLAMABAD, May 8 (Reuters) - U.S. helicopter gunships wounded at least three Pakistani labourers in a missile strike against suspected Taliban fighters in the South Waziristan tribal region on Monday, according to security officials.

The three were brought to the Pakistani bordertown of Angoor Adda from a nearby mountain where they had been mining for minerals, but another eight men were unaccounted for, said the officials, who requested anonymity.

The attack came on the heels of criticism by a senior U.S. official of Pakistan's efforts to stop Taliban fighters crossing into Afghanistan to attack U.S. and Afghan forces.

Security officials said the attack was launched during the early afternoon on the slopes of a mountain called Khawaja Khizer.

1. But you see, these were especially MENACING laborers. Really
threatening-looking and sinister.

I'm SURE they were terrorists.

2. They probably thought it was Bin Laden,
mining for minerals. Or maybe it was Al-Zarkawi who was late for a dinner party.

Now, just this weekend, there was a pamphlet being circulated around Pakistan. It's from an unnamed source, and it's calling for the assassination of Pervez Musharraf, "Bush's slave". Apparently, the anger is stemming from the bombing we did a few months ago, killing several people in a family.

I'm telling you the Pakistanis don't forget injustices like this. It's obvious this country is like a tinderbox, ready to blow any second.
