Fishy story change!
Yesterday, it was perch, today it's bass. Will we have walleye tomorrow?

"I would say the best moment was when I caught a 7 1/2-pound largemouth bass on my lake," Bush said, laughing.

From AOHell they credit AP. So which is it? Perch or Bass.

2. I suspect that the issue here may be translation.
English to German and back to English. The question is what did Bush say in the original english?

No guarantee that this is correct, but the White House transcript says "large mouth bass."

6. I went on a fishing trip not long ago
It was pretty crappy. Nobody caught much. I caught an 8 inch brook trout and a couple of suckerfish. I'm not hugely into fishing, I can barely tie a hook onto my line by myself.

Yet if someone asked me what I caught on my fishing trip I would tell you I caught a brook trout. If you caught a large perch you wouldn't later say you caught a largemouth bass. You'd KNOW what you caught.

I don't think that perch are common in Texas however at his "ranch" I'm sure they stock his "lake" with whatever he wants - quail, perhaps?

However, perch are not that big.
Hmm..Texas is pretty polluted though. Maybe they're mutating big because of the relaxed pollution standards his buds have been gifted with?

Hell - maybe it is some new GMO hybrid fish , a Baerch or a Perass, say, and the copyrighted name hasn't been decided yet!


Or *maybe*.... he's a lying sack of shit who would't tell the truth even if he could!

has reached levels I never thought it would here. But people will have their fun I guess LOL

As far as the truth of it goes, it was fairly evident it was always largemouth bass and was simply the backwards translation.

Nothin fishy about this one, but that doesn't detract from the sheer stupidity of his reply anyway.
