2. I would love to buy one, if I could find some E85 fuel to put in it!
There are no stations around Mid-TN that sell E85 fuel. And I doubt they ever will unless they see some incentive.

This summer some local Kroger gas stations will begin offering a specialized blend of fuel that is 15 percent gasoline and 85 percent ethanol.

Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) says a total of 18 stations in Houston and Dallas will sell the product, called E85, which may reduce greenhouse gases.

Brought to you by Cingular "Kroger is excited to offer this innovative fuel to Texas customers," said Kroger CEO David Dillon. "We believe customer interest in this alternative, renewable fuel will grow as it becomes more conveniently available,"

Kroger says it is currently making gas station improvements needed to offer the new fuel in Dallas and Houston and more fuel centers could offer E85 as consumer demand grows. Kroger will price E85 ethanol lower than regular, unleaded gasoline.

9. I read somewhere the CA is going to help gas stations with the cost
of adding E85 pumps. I can't remember the link though, sorry.

4. evidently it's not too hard to retrofit ones car to use e85...
DH said the kit's about 250 bucks and it's basically just a computer chip.

6. Older vehicles might have problems
I've read articles on the Internet for carbureted cars (like I have) and apparently the adjustments are not that hard. But they warn about alcohol having potentially bad effects on some of the rubber hoses and other components in older vehicles in which it comes into contact.

7. Most petrol cars can drive ethanol, liquid petrol gas, most liquid fuels
They just require some adjustments and it is usually easier to start the car using normal petrol in the winter, but basically any liquid fuel is good enough. The only exception is Diesel because it is fuel which cannot ignite in a normal cylinder and requires higher pressure.
