DiFi on Tweety SUCKED! She Sees Hayden as An Excellent CIA Head!
Edited on Mon May-08-06 04:39 PM by leftchick
What the hell? She was absolutely despicable. I swear I thought I was watching a repuke. She does not see where he won't be confirmed, "though there are questions he needs to answer". :banghead:

She totally contradicted herself twice about the illegal wiretaps and how serious it is and yet thinks this guy is okie dokie! I want to :grr:

I need to see if they hold some defense stock together or something. What a worthless piece of crap.

:puke:

43. She hasn't represented anybody but big corporate donors for years
if she ever did. The only reason she calls herself a democrat is that she's from NoCal, and that's who gets elected there. If she lived in Utah she'd be a re:puke:, if she lived on Mars she be in the Free Mars Party.

Army contract for Feinstein's husband
Blum is a director of firm that will get up to $600 million
David R. Baker, Chronicle Staff Writer

Tuesday, April 22, 2003

URS Corp., a San Francisco planning and engineering firm partially owned by California Sen. Dianne Feinstein's husband, landed an Army contract Monday worth up to $600 million.

The award to help with troop mobilization, weapons systems training and anti-terrorism efforts is the latest in a string of plum defense jobs snared by URS. In February, the firm won an army engineering and logistics contract that could bring in $3.1 billion during the next eight years.

Government contracting has come under increasing scrutiny by Congress and citizen groups, with critics decrying the political connections of firms winning lucrative jobs. Richard Blum, Feinstein's husband, serves on the company's board of directors and controls about 24 percent of the firm's stock,

according to Hoover's Inc. research firm.

A Feinstein spokesman Monday declined to comment on the contract.

26. Where does EG&G gets much of its money
from the little strobe lights on cameras. The "E" of EG&G was Harold "Doc" Edgerton. There are still running royalties on strobe lights.

Doc's son, Bob, and I were colleagues.

Doc was, and Bob is, a real leftie. Bob works in solar energy.

And that's where Blum gets his money.

27. No -
Edited on Mon May-08-06 05:18 PM by Coastie for Truth
We won't get Campbell or Poisner. We'll get Darryl Issa or Tom McClintock or Rich Pombo or maybe, just maybe, we'll be lucky and get Dan Lungren.

That last time Dems in CA rebelled - we got Ahnold Boobengrabber, and before that Ronald By The Grace of God Reagan.

The only way we are going to fix the system is "Clean Money" - where a non-wealthy person can run, and not devote 100% of his/her attention and time to "fund raising" and "dialing for dollars."

Maybe we will get a Steve Westly (eBay) or Steve Poisner (cell phone microprocessor) - who made it big in Silly Valley - but don't count on it. "Clean Money" is the only way.

4. I think most politicians have compromised themselves. Systems broke.
It doesn't work anymore. Lobbyists run congress. The politicians are billboards. I'm sure there are a few noble ones in there amongst the din, but few and far between I would bet.

But, that's just cynical old me.

Dammit, Hayden has all but admitted to spying on Bush's political enemies. Look for a lot more to fall in line. This is what they put him there for. Intimidate the non-faithful. This is pure evil at work.

She looked nervous, sounded unconvincing and confused, and twitched more often than normal...the first thing I thought was that they'd dug up dirt on her war-profiteering husband and were threatening her with disclosure.

It was just too bizarre...

7. It's just another case of Beltway Blindness
and were she to get the hell out of Washington for a few months and reside in her own state for a while, she might get a little perspective she is sorely lacking while the Washington lobbyists, pundits and cadres of government "experts" are controlling her access to information.

This is why incumbents need to go.

32. Not what she said at all
She spoke the way most citizens expect their elected officials to speak, with mature reason and pragmatism. She said she guessed he would be on the short list of just about anybody on the intelligence committee. She said she disagreed with his view of the 4th Amendment. She said she had a lot of questions for him. She said spying on Americans requires a warrant and should be done through the FISA court. She said she still needs answers on who authorized the wiretapping. She didn't let him off the hook at all, she just speaks English, not red meat rant.

40. And then there's this ...
from AmericaBlog:

Good God, Diane Feinstein on ABC's THIS WEEK this morning

What is it with that woman? She's blaming the CIA for Powell's UN speech about Iraq's WMD. No mention whatsoever of the Bush administration cherry picking intelligence. Oh no, it's all the CIA's fault. That's why Bush gave CIA director Tenet a medal, because it was all Tenet's fault. I swear, if you have a Democratic issue that needs undercutting, call DiFi, she's your lady.

47. Just bullshit
She was articulate, intelligent, and quite clear. She said clearly that the 4th Amendment is a protection against unreasonable searches and that probable cause is what it takes to get a warrant. Hayden is wrong on that and she's going to question him.

I really don't know what ears some people listen with, no wonder this country is so fucked up.
