2. Not in a million years.
His purpose is to cheerlead for the "absolute necessity" of wiretapping American citizens without a warrant. He is to help perpetuate the lie that this is needed in the interest of national security. He is also the monkey that they must trot out to show that they have a General who actually buys their bullshit.

Rove is now telling any wavering Republican Senator that if he doesn't support Hayden, he'll send Bush into his state to campaign for him.

That's quite a threat these days.

5. I see no compelling reason he would hand back his nomination
Many people here think Goss was booted because of a potential scandal that might embarrass bush. Why that may be true he was involved in a scandal of minor proportion, it's not the reason he's gone.

He's gone because he was doing a lousy job cleaning up the so called political partisan's in the CIA.

Gen. Hayden is named to finish cleaning out the leaker's and political hacks the administration has been frustrated by for years.

You will see even more turmoil than before.
